Abstrak

Waste piles that have not been handled further will experience decay and produce liquids and pungent odors, namely leachate. Leachate itself is a waste liquid that contains dissolved and suspended elements. Leachate treatment at Kebon Kongok landfill is still carried out simply. Leachate released into the river body has not undergone optimal treatment, this can be seen from the characteristics of leachate which is still black in color. Leachate pollution has the potential to cause negative impacts on river water quality, groundwater, and cause the death of aquatic biota. This study aims to determine the effective material as a filtration agent between charcoal, zeolite, or a combination of zeolite and charcoal in the physical treatment of leachate water (filtration). Another objective of this study was to determine the effect of Eichhornia crassipes and Pistia stratiotes on changes in the values of TDS and EC parameters of leachate water. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The results showed significant changes in the TDS and EC parameter values of leachate water after being treated with filtration and phytoremediation. The best filtration is using zeolite material with a percentage reduction in TDS value of 50.27% and EC of 53.51%. In addition, from the phytoremediation process, it is known that Apu-apu is a better phytoremediation agent than water hyacinth. Phytoremediation results using Apu-apu showed a decrease in TDS value by 32.55% and EC by 35.10%.
